Classes

MONDAY 4.30-5.30 CLASS

This class is for recreational gymnasts who train once a week concentrating on floor and vault skills with some time spent on bars and beam. Pathway from this class is sometimes for the younger gymnasts to a longer class and for older gymnasts its sometimes to the display class but this is not guaranteed. Aim of the class is to encourage children to learn new skills and have fun.

Gymnasts are encouraged to participate in our annual floor and vault competition


MONDAY 5.30-7.45 CLASS

This is for our competitive gymnasts.

Girls train on floor, vault, beam and bars.

Boys train floor, vault, bars, pommel/mushroom and parallel bars.

Aim of this class is to work towards floor and vault or 4-6 piece full competitions on the mainland.


WEDNESDAY 4.30-6.30 CLASS

This is the mini competition class (was previously Thursdays 4.30-6.30pm) where coaches can spend a bit longer with those gymnasts showing potential and explore if they are able to reach competition level. Gymnasts from this class either move onto Monday 4.30-5.30pm class or to the Monday 5.30-7.45pm class depending on attitude, ability and behaviour in class.


THURSDAY 4.30-5.30 BOYS

This is for recreational boys only. Concentrating on floor and vault with some time spent on bars and beginner pommel work. Pathway from this class is for those who show potential to the competitive boys 4-6 piece group or to Teamgym class.


THURSDAY 4.30-5.30 GIRLS

This is for our younger new recreational girls. They work floor, vault, beam and bars.

Pathway from this class is to either Wednesday 4.30-6.30 class or Monday 4.30-5.30 class depending on ability, behaviour and attitude.


THURSDAY 5.30-6.45 TEAMGYM BOYS & GIRLS

This is our teamgym discipline class that concentrate on tumble, trampette and trampette vault. Gymnasts are invited onto this class through the Monday 5.30-7.45 class or the boys’ class. Very occasionally a gymnast is invited through the Monday 4.30-5.30 class. The aim of this class is to work towards competitions on the mainland.


THURSDAY 6.45-7.45 DISPLAY CLASS

This class concentrates on displays, working on acrobatic balances, dance and floor skills.

Invitation only from Monday 5.30-7.45 class and occasionally Monday and Thursday recreational classes.

The aim of this class is to work towards an annual display festival on the mainland called Gymfest plus our own displays.
